It is sometimes possible to improve the flow of a drain on a sink or bathtub, and usually possible to deoderize it, by first pouring one cup of baking soda down the drain and then pouring down one cup of white vinegar that has been heated to boiling. After a few minutes this should be followed by one quart (liter) of water that has been heated to boiling. An alternative is use a large pot of boiling water instead of the vinegar.
