Smudges on walls from dirty fingers can be easily cleaned by rubbing with a damp cloth or paper towel that has been dipped in baking soda. This technique also works for plastic and metal switch covers on walls. Although commercial cleansers can also be used for this purpose, they could have the disadvantage of being too abrasive, and thus they could damage the paint on walls, especially with repeated use.
