Caution: Bleach can be harmful to human health, and thus care should always be taken to avoid contact with the skin and other body parts and to use proper ventilation. It should not be used with ammonia (which is contained in some cleansers) or urine, because this can produce a toxic gas that can cause severe respiratory distress. It is also wise to not use ammonia and bleach in the same house or apartment on the same day. The reason is that there is anecdotal evidence that even very small amounts of the lingering vapors from one of them is sufficient to create small amounts of toxic gas when the other is used, and even such small amounts can be sufficient to cause pneumonia or other lung damage.
